How can I get involved at Trinity?

One way to get involved is to look for various volunteer opportunities within the school. Parent groups such as the Parent-Teacher-Partners (PTP) and the Booster Club are immediate ways to get involved. Also, asking the classroom teachers how you could be utilized in the classroom is very helpful.

What is the Parent Service Points Program?

The purpose of this program is to help our parents become more involved in improving our school community. Every year, each family will be responsible for a minimum of 50 points of volunteer service.  Different activities are worth different points, but it averages to about 5 points per hour spent in service.  There will be weekly opportunities printed in the Tuesday Tidings newsletter.

What kind of lunch services will my child receive?

Trinity provide a low-cost, healthy lunch for your child. The cost will be $3.25 if lunch is purchased every day of school week, $3.50 if not purchased every day of school week, and $4.00 if not ordered and paid in advance. Your child is also very welcome to bring his or her lunch.

What curriculum does Trinity use?

When individuals ask about curriculum, they usually want to know what textbooks are used at the school.  In reality, the curriculum is everything that happens at Trinity, including every learning opportunity. In regard to textbooks and materials though, the 3-year-old class uses Pinnacle curriculum, the VPK uses Doors to Discovery, and the Kindergarten through eighth grade classroom curriculum is as follows:

+ Religion: Voyages through Concordia Publishing House

+ Reading: Houghton Mifflin

+ Math: Pearson Social Studies: Prentice-Hall

+ Science: McGraw-Hill

Students are taught in accordance with the Florida Sunshine Standards.

Is Trinity Lutheran School accredited?

Trinity Lutheran School is accredited through the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and is recognized by the State of Florida’s Department of Education.

Are the teachers certified?

Trinity’s classroom teachers are certified by the state of Florida and the pre-K teachers all have their CDA licenses. The special teachers are either certified or working toward certification.

What is SCRIP?

SCRIP is a program that allows you to buy gift cards for various area companies. A percentage goes toward the school and also toward your child’s tuition. Cards can be bought in different denominations and no extra cost is added.

What does the School Board do?

The School Board is a group of church members, elected under the Trinity Lutheran Church constitution, who provide a variety of guidance, as well as help make and administer policies for the school. They meet monthly in order to discuss various activities around the school and to determine the best course of action for our school.

What is the dress code policy?

Students in grades K-8 are to wear Trinity polo shirts as well as navy or khaki bottoms. Students are to wear the maroon polo shirt to chapel. Pre-K students are not required to wear uniforms, but may if they prefer. Only students in the middle school are allowed to wear pink or black polo shirts.  Uniforms can be purchased from Sir Walter Uniforms.

How does Trinity Lutheran Church fit into all of this?

The school is a major ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church. It is an extension of the beliefs of the church and exists as a way to uphold the mission, which is proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What athletic programs do you provide?

Trinity offers volleyball, basketball, flag football, tee-ball, soccer, and running club in the mornings.

Do you provide before and after care?

Yes. Trinity offers before care from 7:30 am-8:00 am and after care runs from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm.
